Ishizaki has an undergraduate degree from UCLA. She taught K-8 for 23 years in the LAUSD. She studied with Jan Stussy at UCLA Extension and was an LA Artcore Board member, where Ishizaki worked closely with Lydia Takeshita who recently passed away. She has participated in groups shows in Southern California such as the 5th Annual CA 101 Art Exhibition, the 27th Annual Made in California Juried Exhibition, and the LA Bridges & Artisans Exhibition. Ishizaki created a public artwork at  Wedgewood's headquarters in Redondo Beach. Additionally she has been in shows in Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. Ishizaki was married for 55 years to Norman Ishizaki and has 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
